How to Get to Koh Samet

Bangkok to Koh Samet by Bus

One of the most popular ways to get to Koh Samet from Bangkok is by bus. You can take a bus from Bangkok's Ekkamai Bus Terminal to Ban Phe, which is the only port to Koh Samet. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, and the fare ranges from 150-250 THB per person. Bus/mini-bus service providers include Krua Kun Pa and Cherdchai Tour.

Bangkok to Koh Samet by Private Car or Taxi (Recommended)

If you prefer to travel in a private car or taxi, you can hire one from Bangkok to Ban Phe. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Ban Phe, you can park your car at the parking service areas and take a ferry or speedboat to Koh Samet. Note that cars are not allowed on the island. Traveling from Suvarnabhumi Airport by taxi or airport limousine is the most comfortable and time-efficient way.



Bangkok to Koh Samet by Flight

While there are no airports on Koh Samet, you can fly to the nearest airport in Chonburi and then transfer to Rayong. Once in Rayong, you can take a taxi or minibus to Ban Phe. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Ban Phe, you can take a ferry or speedboat to Koh Samet.

• Bring cash with you as there may not be many ATMs on the island.

• Koh Samet is within the Khao Laem Ya-Mu Ko Samet National Park, everyone coming onto the island must pay a national park entrance fee of THB 200 per adult per visit and THB 100 per child per visit in cash upon arrival. (Entrance fee for thai's is THB 40 per adult per visit and THB 20 per child per visit)
